Register for Local Officials Day

This year’s programming includes:

  • Breakfast
  • Capitol activities
  • Mock floor debate
  • Panels on:
    • Utah legislative college internship program;
    • advocacy; and,
    • how the legislative process works
  • Luncheon

We have courtesy block of rooms at the Radisson for this event; the room rate is $169 and the block closes on 1/8/25; $25 for self parking, $35 for valet parking; rooms can be cancelled up to 6pm the day prior to arrival. View rooms here.

As part of Local Officials Day, youth councils will have an opportunity to participate in mock floor debates by submitting their own policy proposals for consideration. For a bill to become a law through the Utah legislative process, a bill is first presented to a legislative committee before it is debated and voted on by the full House or Senate in a floor debate.
